Fatal Mount Pleasant pedestrian death of Mercedes Sykora – Obituary

Mercedes Sykora, 61, lost her life after being struck by a vehicle in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, on November 18, 2024. The collision occurred in the area of West Coleman and Magrath Darby boulevards.

 

Sykora was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment but sadly succumbed to her injuries in the early hours of November 19.

 

According to Sgt. Ashley Croy of the Mount Pleasant Police Department, the investigation into the incident is ongoing. Charleston County has a troubling history of pedestrian fatalities, many of which occur on a few high-traffic roads.
