Andrew Williams, 37, of Charleston, tragically died from gunshot wounds following an officer-involved shooting on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred around 10 a.m. near King and Line Streets, where police had responded to reports of a fight between two men. Upon arrival, Williams reportedly pulled out a firearm, prompting two officers to fire their weapons. Williams was treated at the scene before being transported to MUSC in critical condition, where he later died.
The shooting was captured on video by a passing driver. As is standard procedure, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating the incident.
