Daniel Jack Monfore, a resident of St. George, Utah, was tragically killed in a collision involving a Washington County deputy on Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred on Old Highway 91 as the deputy was responding to a rollover crash near mile marker 11. Authorities reported that the deputy’s vehicle, with emergency equipment activated, collided head-on with Monfore’s motorcycle, which was traveling in the opposite direction.

The Utah Department of Public Safety has classified the incident as an officer-involved critical event. The Washington County Critical Incident Task Force is leading the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
