Fatal Egg Harbor head-on crash death of Glen D. Reimer – Obituary

Glen D. Reimer, a Sturgeon Bay man, was tragically killed in a head-on crash on State 42 in the town of Egg Harbor Wednesday morning.

The Door County Sheriff’s Office identified Reimer, who was driving a van southbound on State 42 when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with an SUV. The crash occurred just south of the intersection with Sunny Point Road at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Reimer was transported to Door County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The 30-year-old driver of the SUV, also from Sturgeon Bay, was airlifted to a hospital in Green Bay with injuries, though his condition has not been released.

The crash caused a temporary closure of State 42 for nearly four hours while emergency responders and a traffic reconstruction team investigated the scene. The highway was reopened to traffic by 2:15 p.m.

An autopsy was conducted on Reimer, and results are still pending as the investigation continues.
