Fatal Washington County car crash death of Kristy Wilson and Aaron Johnson – Obituary
Authorities have identified Kristy Wilson, 45, of Centralia, and Aaron Johnson, 44, of Mesa, Arizona, as the victims of a deadly collision on Route 15 near Ashley on Thursday morning.
According to Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger, Wilson was driving a car that veered across the centerline while navigating a curve. She lost control, left the roadway, overcorrected, and collided with an oncoming pickup truck. Both Wilson and her passenger, Johnson, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained injuries and was airlifted to a regional hospital for treatment.
Preliminary investigations suggest that excessive speed may have contributed to the crash. Coroner Styninger has obtained toxicology samples from Wilson as part of standard procedures.
