Fatal Portage shooting death of Charles Manville – Obituary

A domestic dispute in Portage, Indiana, on November 29, 2024, led to the tragic deaths of 45-year-old Charles Manville and his wife, Brandy Manville, with their daughter critically injured. Authorities believe Charles Manville took his own life after killing his wife.

At 7:41 p.m., police responded to a 911 call from a person inside the home, reporting that her father was intoxicated and throwing items, then threatened everyone’s life while holding a gun. Gunshots were heard over the call before officers arrived and found Charles Manville dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. His wife, Brandy, was found deceased with gunshot wounds.

Their 21-year-old daughter, identified through a GoFundMe account, was discovered alive with injuries and taken to a hospital. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Brandy, a beloved secretary at Portage High School, was remembered for her kindness and support by colleagues and students.
