Fatal Decatur County, Indiana, crash death of Joseph Arthur – Obituary
Joseph Arthur, 47, from Indianapolis, tragically passed away in a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred shortly before 7:00 AM on U.S. 421 near the Decatur and Ripley county line.
According to Indiana State Police, Arthur was heading south on U.S. 421 near County Road 700 East when, for reasons yet to be determined, he lost control of his vehicle and crossed into oncoming traffic, directly into the path of a Freightliner semi.
The collision was nearly head-on.
Arthur was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries.
The Freightliner caught fire upon impact, but the driver was able to escape with only minor injuries.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
