A tragic shooting occurred on the night before Thanksgiving, November 27, in North Richland Hills, leading to the death of 52-year-old Brian Pence. The incident unfolded when a vehicle stopped near the 7300 block of Stonybrooke Drive, and the occupants fired multiple rounds into a home. Pence, who was in bed at the time, was struck by the gunfire and was later taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
North Richland Hills Police, in collaboration with the Fort Worth Police Department, made arrests early Saturday morning, followed by a third arrest on Sunday. The three suspects, who are not from North Richland Hills and had no connection to Pence, were involved in a drive-by shooting intended for another address. According to authorities, the shooting resulted from a juvenile dispute, and the wrong house was targeted.
Though the suspects have been apprehended, their identities and formal charges have not been disclosed. The police departments involved expressed gratitude for the assistance from the Texas Financial Crimes Intelligence Center during the investigation.
