Khalid Farooq dies in fatal Calgary accident while assisting stranded motorist

Fatal Calgary accident claims life of Khalid Farooq – Obituary

On Wednesday evening, Khalid Farooq, driving a Toyota Prius, stopped on Crowchild Trail near Fifth Avenue in Calgary to assist a driver whose vehicle had broken down in the right lane. The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m.

After exiting his vehicle, Farooq’s car began rolling backward. In an effort to stop it, Farooq became trapped beneath the vehicle, according to a statement from Calgary police.

Despite efforts from several bystanders who rushed to his aid, Farooq succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Farooq’s 10-year-old son was present during the tragic accident but was unharmed.
