Fatal Morning Peninsula home invasion results in deaths of Jack Gilmore and Charlie Hayter – Obituary.

Authorities have confirmed the deaths of Jack Gilmore, 29, and Charlie Hayter during a violent home invasion on Parson Street in Rye early Monday morning. The incident unfolded around 4 a.m. when two individuals reportedly broke into the residence.

 

Gilmore, who was inside the home, is alleged to have fired a weapon at the intruders, fatally striking Hayter. The second intruder then reportedly retaliated by shooting Gilmore before escaping the scene.

 

Emergency responders arrived shortly after to find both Gilmore and Hayter suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to provide medical assistance, neither could be saved.

 

Detective Superintendent Janet Stevenson stated that investigators are still piecing together the details of the event but confirmed that firearms were discharged, resulting in critical injuries to both the resident and the intruder.

 

A manhunt is currently ongoing as authorities search for the second individual involved in the break-in.
