Uzziah Shell dies in fatal New Haven shooting

Fatal New Haven shooting death of Uzziah Shell – Obituary.

16-year-old Uzziah Shell, a student at Riverside Education Academy, was tragically killed in a shooting on November 22, 2024, near Goffe and Hudson streets in New Haven. He was found in critical condition and later died from his injuries at Yale New Haven Hospital.

 

Police have indicated that the shooting appeared to be a targeted incident based on available video footage. In a concerning turn, a stray bullet also struck a school bus carrying children from Celentano Biotech, Health and Medical Magnet School, but fortunately, no children were injured.

 

The investigation is ongoing, with no arrests made so far. The One in Five Foundation for Kids has announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the shooter. New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson confirmed the targeted nature of the shooting and assured the public that additional officers have been deployed in the area to ensure safety.
