Fatal Brockton pedestrian death of Bettie Etienne – Obituary
Bettie Etienne, 37, from Brockton, tragically passed away after being struck by a vehicle in Brockton on December 3, 2024. At approximately 6:23 a.m., emergency responders were called to the intersection of North Main and Battles streets following a report of a pedestrian being hit by a Dodge Caravan.
Upon arrival, they found Etienne seriously injured in the roadway. She was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was later declared dead.
The 20-year-old driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Surveillance footage from the area shows Etienne crossing the street when the pedestrian signal was red, while the traffic light for North Main Street was green. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
