Fatal Texas Panhandle pedestrian collision death of Johnathan Morales – Obituary
A tragic crash late Monday night resulted in the death of 31-year-old Johnathan Morales of Amarillo. The incident occurred on Interstate 40 near Groom, Texas, at approximately 11:18 p.m. The crash involved a 2004 Roadtrek 190 Popular RV, driven by 35-year-old Brandon Langston from Duncan, Oklahoma. Langston attempted to avoid Morales, who was standing in the roadway, by braking and swerving but was unable to prevent the collision. Morales was pronounced dead at the scene by Carson County Justice of the Peace Kathleen Barkley.
Langston, who was wearing a seatbelt, was unharmed, along with two passengers in the RV, Laura McCartney, 52, and Kevin Scott, 43. The crash remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol, and no further details have been released.
