Fatal Sonoma County murder-suicide death of Jasmine “Kat” Pringle – Obituary.

Authorities have identified 38-year-old Jasmine “Kat” Pringle, a Sonoma County park ranger, as the victim of a murder-suicide that occurred last week at a residence near Santa Rosa.

Pringle and 43-year-old Keith Gray were found deceased inside a home on Weeks Ranch Road last Wednesday. Law enforcement described Gray as a former colleague of Pringle’s, while online sources suggested he was her boyfriend.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at the home after Pringle failed to report to work. Deputies discovered the home unlocked with lights on and found the bodies of Pringle and Gray in the bathroom. Preliminary investigations suggest Gray fatally shot Pringle before taking his own life.

Pringle had been a park ranger with Sonoma County Parks since 2018, following her initial role as a park aide in 2017. Colleagues remember her as a passionate and dedicated professional who deeply cared for her community and coworkers.

The Sonoma County Regional Parks department shared a tribute, saying, “Kat was a dedicated and knowledgeable ranger who brought passion and warmth to everything she did… Her life and career were cut far too short, but her legacy of service and care will not be forgotten.”

Pringle is survived by her 22-year-old son. Fundraising efforts, including a GoFundMe, have been organized to support her family during this difficult time.
