Larry Lawton, 85, tragically passed away on November 24, 2024, after an incident at the Bonaventure of Pueblo senior living facility.
His wife, Kathy Lawton, 72, was found at the scene covered in blood and told staff that her husband was dead. When staff arrived, they discovered Larry in the couple’s apartment with stab wounds and bloody paper towels nearby. Kathy was later taken into custody for questioning, where officers noticed she appeared intoxicated.
A knife was recovered from the scene with blood on it, suggesting an attempt to clean it. Kathy has been charged with second-degree murder, and as of December 3, she remains in jail. The Pueblo County Coroner ruled that Larry died from injuries consistent with domestic violence.
