Calvin George Jr., 42, was fatally shot in Wapato on Monday evening. The Yakima County Coroner’s Office identified George on Thursday, revealing that he died from a gunshot wound to the chest. The shooting occurred around 6:19 p.m., and his body was found outside his residence on Mamachat Lane.
Investigators from the FBI and Yakama Nation Tribal Police are seeking help from the public regarding a maroon 2008 Toyota Scion, seen in surveillance footage near the scene. The vehicle, which may be abandoned, bears the temporary tag A7766868. Authorities caution the public not to approach the vehicle.
