Delynn Brouillet, 64, of Anchorage, Alaska, tragically lost her life on December 5, 2024, in a head-on collision on Knik-Goose Bay Road near Wasilla. The accident occurred in the early hours of the morning when a Chevrolet pickup, driven by a man who lost control on an icy section of the road, collided with a Toyota Sequoia.
Brouillet was a passenger in the pickup and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. She was declared dead at the scene, while the male driver and the driver of the Sequoia were seriously injured and taken to a hospital. The icy conditions, caused by freezing rain and rain falling on frozen surfaces, played a significant role in the crash. The accident remains under investigation by Alaska State Troopers.
Local schools in Anchorage and the Susitna Valley were closed due to hazardous driving conditions, and authorities have stressed the importance of caution on the roads.
