Andrew Peter Schmier, a 25-year-old resident of Millersville, Maryland, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Dicus Mill Road in Severn on Sunday afternoon, December 9, 2024.

The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. when Schmier, riding a 2007 Honda CBR motorcycle eastbound on Dicus Mill Road, lost control while navigating a curve. His motorcycle slid into the westbound lane, colliding with a 2023 Kia Sorento.

Emergency responders from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced Schmier deceased at the scene. The driver of the Kia Sorento, a 38-year-old individual from Glen Burnie, suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
