Fatal Matteson shooting death of Antoine Brown – Obituary
On December 8, 2024, a shooting near the Matteson Area Public Library claimed the lives of two men. The incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. in the 4300 block of Oakwood Lane.
When police arrived, they discovered one victim with gunshot wounds. He was transported to Franciscan Health Olympia Fields but was later pronounced dead. A second man, also shot, was driven to Advocate South Suburban Hospital, where he was also pronounced dead.
The victim identified as 20-year-old Antoine Brown of East Chicago, Indiana, was confirmed dead. The identity of the second victim remains undisclosed. Authorities are still investigating the shooting, though they report there is no ongoing threat to the public.
