Fatal Friona semi-truck collision death of Donald Warren – Obituary
Donald Warren, a 57-year-old man from Hereford, tragically lost his life in a collision with a semi-truck on U.S. 60 near Friona Friday morning. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Warren was driving his 2012 Kia Sorento northbound on County Road 17 in Parmer County at approximately 11:01 a.m. when he failed to yield at a stop sign. As a result, he entered U.S. 60 and was struck on the driver’s side by a 2000 Peterbilt truck tractor towing a semi-trailer traveling eastbound.
Warren, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was rushed to Parmer County Medical Center with severe injuries and was later pronounced dead. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
The crash occurred on a stretch of U.S. 60 where the speed limit is 75 mph. Conditions were clear with dry pavement at the time of the incident. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
