Earl Hollins dies in fatal Harris County parking lot attack
Fatal Harris County parking lot attack death of Earl Hollins – Obituary
An 80-year-old Houston military veteran, Earl Hollins, has died after a violent confrontation over a parking spot in northwest Harris County. The incident took place on Friday outside a Food Town store on FM 1960. Initially thought to be a robbery, the altercation between Hollins and 41-year-old Anthony Boyce was later determined to have been sparked by a dispute over a parking space.
Hollins suffered severe head injuries, slipped into a coma, and was not expected to recover. His family confirmed that he was taken off life support on Saturday night. Hollins-Washington, his niece, expressed her disbelief and grief over the senseless nature of the attack. Boyce fled the scene after the assault and is currently facing charges of aggravated assault with serious bodily injury. The charges may be upgraded following Hollins’ death.
Known for his easygoing nature and love for his family, Hollins’ passing has left a void in his loved ones’ lives, particularly during the holiday season. Boyce and Hollins were reportedly familiar with each other, and the family is struggling to come to terms with the brutal act.
