Lamar McKnight, the head football coach of Hudson Catholic, and assistant coach Brad Cunningham were among six individuals who tragically lost their lives in a fiery crash on Friday night in Newark. The accident occurred just before 11 p.m. on Raymond Boulevard as the vehicle they were traveling in veered off the road, became airborne, and struck a support column. The car exploded into flames after impact.
The Hudson Catholic High School community is mourning the loss of their dedicated coaches, who were known for their impactful work with students and athletes. Classes at the school will be canceled on Monday to allow for grief support, and counselors will be available to assist those affected. The identities of the other victims are still being investigated.
