William Dean, a 39-year-old man from Seagoville, was fatally shot on December 2 near a park. Seagoville police responded to a call around 5:50 p.m. on Fountain Drive, where they found Dean sitting on the ground at a gazebo with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was conscious at the time and transported to the hospital, but despite medical efforts, he later passed away.
According to witnesses, Dean had been in a blue Hyundai with another man before the shooting occurred. After the gunfire, Dean ran about 60 feet to the gazebo while the other man fled the scene. Authorities are still seeking information about the incident and the suspect involved.
