Fatal Lower Merion home invasion shooting death of Andrew Gaudio – Obituary

Authorities have identified a suspect connected to a deadly home invasion in Lower Merion Township, Pennsylvania, that left a man dead and his mother critically injured. The incident occurred early Sunday morning around 2:20 a.m. on Meredith Road. Investigators have issued an arrest warrant for 42-year-old Kelvin Roberts from Philadelphia, who faces multiple charges, including second-degree murder, robbery, and burglary.

Roberts and at least one other suspect are believed to have broken into the home and shot 25-year-old Andrew Gaudio and his mother, 61-year-old Bernadette Gaudio. Andrew died at the scene, while Bernadette was transported to Lankenau Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition. Authorities are hopeful she will survive, according to District Attorney Kevin Steele.

During the 911 call made by Bernadette, the attackers could be heard rummaging through the house. Investigators suspect the burglars entered through the basement. It is believed that Andrew fought back to protect his mother.

A dashcam video reportedly captured Roberts’ vehicle, a white Hyundai Azera, leaving the scene, and the stolen Jeep Cherokee belonging to the Gaudios was later found. A search of a property in Philadelphia led to the discovery of the stolen vehicle and Bernadette’s jewelry box.

The motive for the crime remains under investigation, and authorities are seeking public assistance in locating Roberts and others involved. A $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest.
