Fatal Tucson pedestrian crash death of Daniel Armenta Gracia – Obituary
Daniel Armenta Gracia, 51, tragically lost his life early Thursday morning in a pedestrian accident at the intersection of Valencia Road and Nogales Highway. The Tucson Police Department is investigating the incident, which occurred just before 6:00 a.m.
According to authorities, Gracia was attempting to cross Nogales Highway when he was struck by a northbound maroon Nissan Altima. Following the initial impact, Gracia was hit by a second vehicle and ended up in the intersection of Valencia Road. First responders from the Tucson Fire Department attempted to assist, but Gracia was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not using a crosswalk at the time of the incident.
The driver of the Nissan, a 51-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with police. No signs of impairment were found, and the driver was not charged. Investigators suggest that Gracia’s failure to use a crosswalk contributed to the crash. The investigation is still ongoing, and no citations have been issued at this time.
