Devin Bond, 31, has been identified as the victim of a hit-and-run incident that occurred on November 27 near South Whitman Street and South 12th Street in Tacoma, Washington. The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Bond died from multiple blunt-force injuries, with the manner of death determined to be accidental.
Anthony Thomas Albers, 34, has been charged with DUI vehicular homicide, failure to remain at an accident scene resulting in death, and reckless driving in connection to the incident. Court documents indicate that Albers was driving a green pickup truck at a high speed when he struck Bond, causing him to go airborne. Witnesses reported that the driver appeared intoxicated and continued west on South 12th Street after the collision.
Albers was held in the Pierce County Jail on a $10,000 bond but was released on December 3. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates may be provided as the case progresses.
