Fatal Potter County car crash death of Matthew Handlon – Obituary
Matthew Handlon, a 32-year-old Amarillo resident, tragically passed away following a head-on collision Monday morning on Highway 136. The crash occurred just south of FM Road 293 at approximately 9:51 a.m.
The incident involved two Ford Transit vans. Handlon, driving a 2020 Ford van, was heading south on Highway 136 when, due to a suspected medical episode, he veered into the opposite lane and collided with a northbound 2021 Ford Transit van.
Handlon sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by Potter County Justice of the Peace Debbie Horn. The second driver, also from Amarillo, suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital for treatment.
