Fatal Kuna car crash death of Rocky Mahoney – Obituary
Authorities have identified 44-year-old Rocky Mahoney of Nampa as the victim of a single-vehicle accident that occurred early Saturday morning in Kuna, Idaho.
According to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, Mahoney was driving west on West 4th Street when his vehicle veered off the road near the North Ash Avenue intersection and collided with a tree shortly before 12:30 a.m.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but despite their efforts, Mahoney was pronounced dead at 1:57 a.m. The Ada County Coroner’s Office determined the cause of death to be blunt force injuries and classified the manner of death as accidental.
Mahoney was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash. The Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the incident.
In 2023, tree collisions were the second-leading cause of fatalities in single-vehicle accidents in Idaho, according to the Idaho Transportation Department.
