Tammie Pickelsimer, tragically lost her life in a fatal car accident on December 9, 2024, in Rome, Georgia, following a swatting call to the home of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. The call, which falsely reported a bomb threat, led to a police response from the Rome Police Department’s bomb squad. During this response, a member of the Floyd County Bomb Squad was involved in the crash on Redmond Road near a Walmart.
The officer sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized. Rep. Greene condemned the violent political threats and highlighted the strain they place on law enforcement, noting that this particular swatting call had been traced to a Russian IP address. The Rome Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident.
