Fatal Cottonwood Heights auto-pedestrian crash death of Yingli Lu – Obituary

Yingli Lu, 72, tragically lost her life in an auto-pedestrian collision on Monday morning in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.

 

The accident occurred around 7 a.m. on December 9 at the intersection of 6200 South and Wasatch Boulevard. Authorities reported that Lu was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle. It remains unclear whether the driver had a green light at the time.

 

The driver involved stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Traffic along 6200 South was partially restricted during the inquiry, and drivers were encouraged to take alternate routes.

 

Lu’s sister, Jennifer Lu, shared that Yingli was a cautious and law-abiding individual who frequently walked the same route for years. She was on her way to a senior center when the tragic incident occurred. Jennifer expressed her grief and concern, stating, “I worried every day that something like this could happen.”

 

The Cottonwood Heights Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
