Fatal Dorchester shooting death of Keith Cousin – Obituary

Authorities have identified 37-year-old Keith Cousin from Bayonne, New Jersey, as the victim of a fatal shooting in Dorchester on Monday night. Boston Police responded to the scene on Devon Street around 10:30 p.m., where they observed two men, Darius Powell and Daiquan Miller, fleeing into an alley after noticing officers nearby.

The two men were quickly apprehended and found to be in possession of two firearms, both of which were unlicensed in Massachusetts. They were arrested on weapons charges but are not yet facing murder charges. During their arraignment, the victim’s relatives attended, expressing hope that further charges would follow. A judge ordered Powell and Miller to remain in custody until a dangerousness hearing next week.

Cousin’s family, devastated by his loss, described him as a kind person. His aunt, speaking through tears, shared the tragic news that Cousin’s baby boy had been born on the same day he was killed.
