Mathew Jopke dies in fatal Madison, Wisconsin crash

Fatal Madison, Wisconsin crash death of Mathew Jopke – Obituary.

The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that Mathew Jopke, 37, died from injuries sustained in a car crash on Friday, December 6, 2024. The Lodi resident was declared dead at the scene of the incident, which occurred early in the morning near North Stoughton Road and Highway 30. A forensic examination was completed on the same day.

 

The crash occurred around 3:45 a.m., when a driver collided with two vehicles as they exited Highway 30 onto North Stoughton Road. Emergency responders arrived to find one person trapped inside a vehicle, later identified as Jopke, who was unable to survive his injuries.

 

The driver responsible for the crash was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover. He has been charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and recklessly endangering safety. The suspect’s identity has not been disclosed. Another individual involved in the crash sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
