Bill Safos, a former reporter for WKYC, tragically passed away on December 12, 2024, after being struck by a vehicle in Lakewood, Ohio. The incident occurred around 6:11 p.m. when 51-year-old Vasilios Safos was crossing Madison Avenue outside of a crosswalk near Orchard Grove Avenue. As he attempted to cross, he was hit by a westbound vehicle. Safos was rushed to Fairview Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead due to his injuries. The driver remained at the scene and was released after providing a statement to the authorities. The incident is still under investigation.
