Bruce Morlack, a 74-year-old crossing guard, lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while assisting children across a street in Burlington, New Jersey. The incident occurred Friday morning at the intersection of Jacksonville Road and James Street.
Although the children he was helping were unharmed, Morlack sustained critical injuries and tragically passed away shortly afterward. Moments before the collision, both Morlack and the children narrowly avoided being hit by another vehicle, a red car, while in the designated crosswalk. While the driver of the white vehicle that hit Morlack stayed at the scene, the red car fled the area.
