Greenville County deputies are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Wednesday night at a home on Confederate Circle.
The victim, identified as 47-year-old Joseph Sterling Barker, was found with a gunshot wound after authorities responded to a call just after 10 p.m.
Barker was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Barker died from a gunshot wound, ruling the death a homicide.
Authorities have arrested 47-year-old Frederick Bernard Williams, identifying him as the suspect in the shooting.
Investigators stated that the incident stemmed from an ongoing conflict between the two men. Williams faces several charges, including murder, and is being held without bond.
