A deadly crash on Wednesday morning in Pike County claimed the life of 45-year-old Kevin Andrew Flannagan from Opelika. Flannagan was driving a Chevrolet Suburban northbound on U.S.
Highway 231 near milepost 61 when his vehicle collided head-on with a Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer. The impact was severe, resulting in fatal injuries, and Flannagan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 45-year-old man from Troy, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is currently investigating the cause of the collision.
