Authorities in Prince George’s County have confirmed the identity of the woman who tragically passed away after being struck by a vehicle while walking in Oxon Hill on December 11.
Venessa Stewart-Ferguson, 27, of no fixed address, was found by police shortly after 6 a.m. near the intersection of Saint Barnabas Road and the Capital Beltway.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Stewart-Ferguson lying in the roadway. Despite efforts to assist her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the police, Stewart-Ferguson was walking in the westbound lanes of Saint Barnabas Road when she was hit by a vehicle.
The driver fled the scene following the crash, but investigators later tracked down both the vehicle and the individual involved.
As of now, it remains unclear whether the driver has been charged.
