Fatal San Juan two-vehicle crash claims the life of Rogelio Benavidez-Urrea – Obituary.
A devastating crash occurred at around 1:48 p.m. on December 13 at the intersection of Stewart Road and U.S. 18 Military Road, just south of San Juan, Texas. Authorities have identified the victim as 76-year-old Rogelio Benavidez-Urrea.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that a semi-trailer traveling northbound on Stewart Road ran through a red flashing light at a stop sign and collided with a Honda driven by Benavidez-Urrea. Tragically, he suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The semi-trailer driver sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
At this time, further details have not been disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
