Dallas police confirmed that a man was fatally shot in a downtown incident that also resulted in a DART train being struck by gunfire. The shooting occurred around 3:50 p.m. in the 400 block of North Harwood Street.
The victim, identified as 20-year-old Didier Orea, was pronounced dead at the scene. During the incident, a Red Line DART train was hit by stray bullets, but no passengers were injured, according to a DART spokesperson. The affected train was deboarded at Union Station and removed from service for further investigation.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. DART officials warned passengers of a potential 10-minute delay in train schedules due to the incLident.
