Jose Montanez dies in fatal Channelview car crash

Fatal Channelview car crash death of Jose Montanez – Obituary

Jose Montanez, 39, tragically lost his life in a car accident early Sunday morning in Channelview. Authorities confirmed the fatal crash occurred around 6 a.m. on Becker Street.

Harris County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and discovered a single-vehicle accident. The driver was found dead at the location. Investigators believe Montanez failed to navigate a curve in the road and crashed into a concrete culvert.

Reports indicate that Montanez was not wearing a seatbelt and was speeding at the time of the crash. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez revealed that two small bottles of liquor were found with Montanez. Authorities are awaiting the results of his autopsy to determine his blood-alcohol content.

Montanez’s family has been informed of his passing, and the investigation is ongoing.
