Kortney Summer Atkins, 24, lost her life early Sunday morning in a tragic wrong-way crash on U.S. Highway 70 bypass in Johnston County, North Carolina.
Authorities reported that the collision occurred around 3 a.m. when a BMW traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes collided head-on with a Jeep Cherokee. Atkins was a passenger in the Jeep and sustained fatal injuries.
Three others, including a 4-year-old child, were seriously injured in the crash and were transported to the hospital for treatment.
