Fatal Escondido car crash death of Pablo Ivan Lopez Marin – Obituary
Pablo Ivan Lopez Marin, 25, of Spring Valley, was fatally struck by a vehicle on November 24 while crossing State Route 78 in Escondido, California.
The incident occurred around 9:22 p.m. as Lopez Marin was running across the eastbound lanes between Rock Springs Road and Centre City Parkway. He was hit by a Toyota SUV, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene and pronounced Lopez Marin dead.
The driver, a 28-year-old woman, and her 19-year-old passenger remained at the scene and were uninjured, according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident has been ruled accidental.
The collision caused traffic delays for several hours as authorities investigated.
