Shah Ghafoori dies in fatal Hamilton stabbing

Fatal Hamilton stabbing death of Shah Ghafoori – Obituary

Early Sunday morning in Hamilton, 34-year-old Shah Ghafoori was fatally stabbed in what police are calling an unprovoked attack between two strangers.

The incident occurred at Peddles Tavern, located at 1490 Barton Street, south of Kenilworth Avenue North, around 1:45 a.m. Officers arrived to find Ghafoori suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

Ghafoori, a Hamilton resident, has been identified as the city’s 10th murder victim of the year. Detective Sergeant Sara Beck shared that there is no indication the victim and the suspect knew each other.

She described the attack as entirely unprovoked, stating that the victim was assaulted as he exited the tavern, and the situation could have unfolded anywhere. The investigation is ongoing, and police have not provided further details on the suspect.
