Fatal Gurnee rollover crash death of Eric Kott – Obituary
Eric Kott, a 75-year-old man from Oak Creek, was killed in a rollover crash on Interstate 94 near Route 21 in Gurnee on Friday afternoon.
Illinois State Police and local fire departments responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m. Preliminary investigations revealed that Kott was driving a gray Dodge Ram when he changed lanes and struck the side of a semi-truck’s trailer.
The impact caused the Dodge to veer off the roadway, travel up an embankment, and roll over, partially ejecting Kott. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lake County Coroner later confirmed that he died from blunt force head injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by authorities.
