Fatal Denton house fire death of Dante Bassi – Obituary

A deadly house fire in Denton, Texas, claimed the life of 103-year-old Dante Bassi. The fire broke out around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the 2000 block of Houston Place, near the University of North Texas. The fire department responded to reports of heavy flames in the front of the house and rescued two victims, one of whom was in critical condition.

Dante Bassi was pronounced dead the following morning, while an elderly woman was flown to a burn center for treatment. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
