Elisha Brian, 30, and Eric Saint, 56, tragically lost their lives on December 18, 2024, when a tree fell onto the cab of the box truck they were in on U.S. Highway 2, near Sunset Frontage Road.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that both men died from blunt-force injuries and ruled the deaths as accidental.
The truck was traveling east when the tree fell, causing the vehicle to veer off the road. Authorities from the Spokane Police Department and Washington State Patrol discovered the men’s bodies inside the truck.
Investigators believe strong wind gusts contributed to the tree’s fall, which was part of a wider weather event that caused power outages and additional tree damage in the region.
