Ezekiel Castello dies in fatal Bagotstown motorcycle crash
Fatal Bagotstown motorcycle crash death of Ezekiel Castello – Obituary.
Ezekiel Castello, a 23-year-old budding entrepreneur and owner of “Zeek592Customs,” tragically lost his life on Thursday afternoon in a motorcycle accident in Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara (EBD). The accident occurred at approximately 3:37 p.m. when Castello swerved to avoid a pedestrian, lost control of his bike, and fell into the path of a nearby Canter truck.
Surveillance footage revealed that Castello was riding south along the western side of the East Bank Demerara Public Road. As he approached the intersection leading to the Demerara Harbour Bridge, traffic slowed down, prompting him to maneuver through vehicles in a zigzag pattern. While doing so, a pedestrian crossed his path, forcing him to swerve sharply. Unfortunately, he lost balance and fell under the rear wheel of the truck, which crushed his skull.
Paramedics rushed Castello to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), but he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The truck driver involved in the incident is currently in police custody, assisting with the investigation.
Castello, a graduate of the Guyana Technical Institute, was recognized for his entrepreneurial spirit. He launched “Zeek592Customs,” a sneaker customization business, in 2022, turning it into a successful venture through dedication and hard work. He was featured in the Kaieteur News’ Sunday Magazine as a “Young Entrepreneur” in 2023, where he expressed his passion for encouraging youth in business.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
