Fatal East Gull Lake pedestrian crash death of Jill Burnham – Obituary
Jill Burnham, 34, of Brainerd, Minnesota, tragically passed away following a pedestrian crash on Gull Lake Dam Road in East Gull Lake on December 14, 2024.
The incident occurred just before 4:00 p.m. as a 2023 Ford Bronco, driven by 57-year-old Michael Kruse of Nisswa, lost control on an icy road and struck Burnham. Burnham had been speaking with 52-year-old Amy Viehauser, the driver of a pickup parked in the westbound lane, at the time of the crash.
Burnham was treated at the scene before being transported to a Brainerd hospital and later transferred to a St. Cloud hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries on December 15.
Authorities executed a search warrant and obtained a blood sample from Kruse due to suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Formal charges are pending the results of the blood analysis.
