The Boulder County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a man who tragically fell from the Second Flatiron. Keith Hayes, 42, was found deceased on a rock ledge at approximately 9 p.m. on Monday, after deputies were alerted to a missing hiker.
Friends of Hayes reported that he was expected to return home around dusk but had failed to do so, prompting concern. Authorities responded to the area, where the hiker’s body was discovered. The cause of death was determined to be a fall from the popular hiking location.
