A deadly single-vehicle accident in Jacksonville claimed the life of 63-year-old Richard Sheats on Tuesday morning. The Jacksonville Police Department reported that around 8:43 a.m., Sheats was driving a 2018 Toyota Camry southeast on Gum Branch Road, near the intersection of Doris Avenue. For unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the road to the right, striking several telephone and signal poles before coming to a stop.
Sheats was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His family has been informed of the tragic loss.
